Topic: Cant access Mysql

I am trying to install a Php/Mysql based chat room onto my SME 6.0 server.

It comes with an idiots guide to installation, they obviously hadnt anticipated me !

It is asking for the following
Database Host
Database Name
DAtabase Username
Database password

I am new to Mysql so dont particularly understand it that well. I thought that Mysql was already installed on the server and if so how do I go about creating a mysql database.

Any ideas?

Search contribs for phpmyadmin, install the appropriate version for your version of SME, and off you go.

Mysql and php are not sme issues

try reading about their use or post to the proper site

sme has mysql and installed by default THEY are from other vendors read read read If sme has a issue with them search for the answer here

Downlaoded phpmyadmin, works ok BUT !!!

I now get this message when I try to log into it

ERROR 1045: Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: YES)

Any ideas how I can log back into it ?

Have managed to reset it and have access back to myphpadmin. Thanks for all your help
