I've noticed fellow SME users have some pretty nice websites (and they look a little similiar). Do you use a favorite design program? I'm looking for some advice.

I'd have to disagree. This is the "General Discussion" forum and I would assume that many of the other regular followers of the SME server are running SME as their Web Server. I've also noticed a similarity between a lot of their websites, with maybe a theme difference. If there is something that works very well with SME server it is a valid question.

Any html editor you want

Your question however does not pertain to sme but I have seen questions about where does the intarnet end and internet begin
that also does not pertain to sme

You can install Frontpage extensions and use Microsoft Frontpage
you can also use any html editor and ftp your pages to the server PHP can be used on your ibays with proper setup

Using ftp is NOT an sme issue read the help files in your ftp program

As you can see, users of SME are an especially friendly bunch ;).

Anyway, yeh, there are no real forums here for plain general discussion.  Its more like:

Basic(General) & Experienced.

But, to answer the question, depends on what aspect.  You mentioned design.  Whats your experience?  Alot of the users on here probably hand code using VI :D....not me.  I use dreamweaver to edit html templates, that are included in .php files.

Hi,
Try Nvu, it is a great wysiwyg html editor for the beginner to advanced designer, it's also a pretty good php editor and it is FREE! Go here to read more and download it: http://www.nvu.com/ Of course you will also need a good photo editor, I haven't found anything free or any thing as good as Photoshop.
Hope this helps.
