How to connect to computer through domain
« on: May 26, 2004, 03:34:39 PM »
I want to connect to computer through domain. Computer - Win XP Pro, SME 6.01. I change it from workgroup to domain. When I restart computer and try to login as admin, I get msg smth like "Domain Controller is down or otherwise unavailable or account does not exists". Domain Controller on server-manager is on. If try to make account "admin" on computer and say that user is administrator, I get error like "the trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed". I asked a guy, he said he doesnt make accounts at all, that they r created automaticaly when I login through domain.
Any ideas? If u need more info, plz, right here. Thanks.

There is registry fix for WinXP (and Win98) that you need to apply on your workstation. Look in the /home/e-smith/files/server-resources/regedit/

You also have to make sure you have no connections set up from when it was in the workgroup or it will refuse to join the domain.
