E-smith 6 .x with Fedora Core client
« on: May 28, 2004, 01:34:42 PM »
Hi,

I'am quit a newbee with Linux clients. Is is possible to make an login script for an Linux client (e.g. Fedora Core 2) that runs from my e-smith server. (like netlogon.bat for Windows clients). I want to automatically have my usershare mounted. So if i logon with e.g. arjan on workstation_1 I want to receive the same "shares" as I logon with arjan on workstation_2.
I heared of PAM / NIS. I'am searching in the right direction? Please help!

Arjan

Hey Arjan,

have a look at this link. It gives an example of mapping from a linux client and how to have it map on bootup.  But only from the one PC.

I came across this other one that gives you some automount features.

Try this one.

I tried it on my linux client and mapped to my linux (SME of course!) no problem.

Hi,
I used the webmin module in fedora to map a network drive and re-connect on reboot automatically.
Works a treat!
