I'm running SME 6.1, and I'm using it as a router at home (to share internet, and fetch mails).
Now I've got a little problem (since a long time).
My sme's domain is "pandora.be", but that domain is already taken by an other server (my isp). I need to set my sme server to that domain, else he won't fetch mails from the real pandora.be mailserver, and distribute them to the local users.
(He checks only for mails ending in user@<THE-SME-DOMAIN.XX>)
Of course this is pretty annoying, when sending mails.
e.g.: When someone mails to local@pandora.be and outside@pandora.be (both adresses in the same mail; local is a adress behind the SME server, and outside is an adress the SME server doesn't know (but the adress excists!))
Now, what happens, is that SME will reply to the sender (whom we will call sender@else.com), and tells him that "outside@e-smith.pandora.be doesn't excist, and will not be delivered.
(note: the hostname of the SME server is e-smith.)
This is confusing for people outside the SME server.
The same happens when I try to send (from behind the sme server) to local@pandora.be and outside@pandora.be; I get a mailer-daemon from the SME server, that outside@e-smith.pandora.be is an unknown adress, and the mail is not delivered.
(I checked if the mail was delivered to outside@pandora.be, and it is delivered!)
Can I do something about this ?
I don't need the SME server to think he has a domain, I just need him to fetch all mails from 1 pandora.be account, that's all...
And an other problem, since my ISP is changing all PANDORA.BE domains to TELENET.BE domains (but both domains are still in use); all @telenet.be email adresses are send to the admin of the SME server, not to the right user.
