after reboot unable to access server-manager
« on: July 14, 2004, 10:25:10 PM »
hello all
new install of 6.0.1.01
I was able to access /server-manager/ through browser though after changing some setting the web-interface froze. I was able to log in as root & admin ( F1 & F2). after the last change - adding info about dyndns account and setting to auto ( so I wouldnt have to log in at console) and a reboot now unable to use web-interface and when I try to access text server-manager i type password and then it kicks me back to 1st page of server console 1.Check status of this server etc....
any ideas?
i can ping the server from this internal pc and internet is working

First try from the Admin console to restart the server.  If that doesn't work, then log in as Root and run the following command from the command line:

sbin/e-smith/signal-event post-upgrade

This should force an update of the Server-manager interface.

Thanks for the info though it didnt work
when asked "Do you wish to proceed?"  to access server manager on console I highlight <Yes> enter then have to type in admin password then brought back to the original Server console page
Any other ideas?

Sounds like server-manager may not be running. If you haven't already sorted this, try typing ps x |more at a command line and see if you can see /usr/sbin/httpd-admin or just type service httpd-admin restart.
I have had the server-manager not start for reasons best known to itself.
