squidguard3.2 Help Please
« on: July 17, 2004, 11:56:01 AM »
Hi there all,
I recently installed squidguard3.2, hoping to block certain sites, and in the hope of adding a website monitor on later.
After installing squidgaurd, i install squidguard properties, all seemed fine until i tried to browse.

I can hardly go to any sites. i tried adding my ip as a full trusted, and still no luck. i followed the pdf doc closely and used there recommended blacklist. Some sites only half load.

Please can someone tell me where i went wrong? i couldent even get into contribs and all pics on all pages will not appear.

Thanks alot

hey, Im glad I found someone else having this problem. I have 1 server (of 5) doing exactly the same thing. Have you found a Solution???
Im running SME 6.0 on all these servers. Did you add "restrict by IP" by any chance?? I found that this affected everything after adding a second IP.
Ive had to uninstall sg3 for pages to be viewed properly - not good cause its a school.

Yes, the same happens here too. I'm using squidQuard 3.2 and squid 2.5STABLE3 on SME 6.0.1-10

Pages don't load fully. squid dies from time to time. As soon as I remove the call to squidGuard from squid.conf. all is working like a charm, but no contnt-filtering :(

maybe, just maybe, the used squid and squidGuard aren't good enough for SME 6.0.1-10?

I have googled and searched contribs.org but couldn't find much useful info :(

Hiya

I have the same issue, squid caches and gives out web fine.  But then squidguard is turned on and I get crashing and partial pages.

Using latest stable versions of both programs.

Cant find much help yet.  Please keep me informed, thankyou.

Hiya

I think I have the solution.  It seems to be working for me at the moment.

My problem developed when I added time periods.  It seems that adding a time which goes throughout 2 days causes the system to fall over:

15:00 - 17:00 is fine
15:00 - 03:00 does not work

Please let me know if this sorts your problems out.
