Topic: tape restore changes ownership and permission for SOME users

I've just performed a tape restore on top of a clean 6.0.1-01 install and noticed that some users were unable to login to webmail. A comparison to the production server I notice that the Mail and Maildir folders appear to have the ownership changed from user:user to root:admin. After changing the ownership back to user:user I am able to login to webmail. Has anybody come across this problem before. The problem seems to be easily fixed but it leaves me with no confidence that other files ownership may have been changed as well during either the backup or restore process. This didn't happen for all users just some random users??

I can verify that as well.  I was going to file a bug report, but wanted to verify the behavior again.  Currently my test machine is down, so I haven't been able to re-create the environment yet.

I done quite a bit of testing with my test machine. I have quite a lot of mods and addons such as hylafax on my machine which I wanted to keep intact so I done a clean install then restored basically / from the tape to / on the hard drive. Almost everything seemed to function as normal except I was unable to login to webmail with some users after doing this so I thought maybe this procedure had broken something. I then tried an "e-smith restore" on top of this setup with the same result. So I went back to the drawing board and performed a clean install followed by an "e-smith restore" and still had the same problem so I was thinking it had to be a bug as well. It was only after doing all this that I started to try and find out why some users couldn't log in to webmail that I discovered the ownership/permissions problem. I just wanted to find out if anyone else had come across the same problem before I reported it as a bug.

Yes I can confirm the same. No access to webmail other than admin after restoring on 6.01.1
