Topic: Can't recieve externally sent mail

I've gone through the Public DNS how to for 6.0.1 here on the site. My domains resolve and everything's all good there.

However I am unable to recieve mail on these domains, I can sent email out and it's recieved, but I don't recieve any email inbound.

The domains in question are:
protek-solutions.com &
equacomp.com

I would really like some kind assistance on this problem thnx, any files or what not you require will be provided on demand.

I can only tell you what I am seeing from my side of the net.

I tried to ping equacomp.com, and it will find an IP and report only once, then I get time outs. I get host not found if i ping mail, pop, or smtp for you domain. I did a whois and it says that godaddy is your registrar, and they are your name server. Anyway it looks like you are not the name server for your domain as far as the internet is concerned. I think the first step is to go to godaddy and point the name server to your dns server.

that doesn't suprise me as I have just recently changed the domain information for equacomp

protek-solutions.com however has been changed and now propagates to me however the mail doesnt seem to reach me..

protek-solutions.com is also the primary domain for e-smith also

Just tried to ping protek-solutions.com, and get a "host not found" reply. How long ago did you change the name server entry? I have found it can take as long as 4 or 5 days to propagate.

If your system is behind a router make sure port 53 (and any other relevant ports) are forwarded to your SME box.  If not the external interface of your system is not responding.

Your server is in public gateway not private gateway mode???
