Topic: What risk is involved with disabling php sandbox in sme 5.6

I have had to disable php sandbox to get the file uploads feature of phprojekt to work after upgrading php to 4.3.2

My question real is how "dangerous" is having this security feature disabled?

I appreciate there will be a risk but in a scale of say 1 - 10 (10 being "bad news") would it fall in the lower half or upper half.
