BT DSL modem suggestions
« on: August 12, 2004, 01:02:38 AM »
Hi All,
Can anyone tell me the best ADSL modem for use with BT in the UK. I have a D-Link DSL-300T but I can't get it to work. It needs to be setup through a web browser, in XP it gives out a IP address through DHCP and you then configure it through IE using 192.168.1.1 This is also the address of my server! I can't see where to disable the DHCP or give it a new address, so I have given up and I am hoping that someone will be able to suggest a modem that is known to be good with good old BT DSL. I had cable in the US and never had a problem. Of course the modem that BT supply is USB only, anyone used a USB modem? Any help or suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance.
