I don't want the modem on our dialup connection to dial in continuously during the day. Are there any ways to extend the "Long" setting in the conf files so that it will timeout after 4 hours of inactivity for example, rather than 30 minutes (or whatever the delay is)??
The place I work for is a not for profit and we don't use the internet a lot, but it should stay on from the morning til the afternoon when everyone leaves (plus we can't afford mega phone bills of dial-on-demand system when it needs to dial in every 30 minutes).
At the moment the server is set to "Continuous" connection, and it is switched off every night, which isn't ideal. The server is only used as a print server, internet access and file server.
Am I missing something?
I have tried DialMon but after a while the connection just hangs and there is no throughput. (Are there any alternatives?)
