Disappearing IMAP mail????
« on: September 10, 2001, 02:23:47 PM »
Hello All,

I have a really weird thing happening at the moment. I have two IMAP accounts on my e-smith box. When I connect to one I see I have 24 messages and then they disapear and only show two new ones? The other account works fine. This happens in both OS's (I dual boot between 98 and 2000)

Strange enough I can see the emails with the webmail. Uptil now this has been working find for about 4 months with no worries??????

Any ideas

TIA
miked

I have experienced the same problem, on several IMAP accounts at home, and now on my wife's e-smith server at her business.  We use Outlook Express clients. The messages are still on the server, and by creating a POP3 account in OE, it is possible to download all the messages.

This happened suddenly over the past couple of weeks after running for many months with no problems

I havve exactly the same problem since this morning. I think it sort of started last week by changing the time on my received email. ie: I could see an un-read email with time 10h32 for example. When clicking on it to read it, the time seems to change randomly (minus 1 hour...).
Since today, I can only see today's emails .. even if the old one appear quickly then go. Old emails can be read via Webmail.

This is happening to me too. It's frightening as I am running two seperate e-smith servers and they BOTH stopped updating their IMAP services at around 10AM (BST) today. I'm getting exactly the same symptoms i.e. I can retrieve mail via POP3, but not IMAP.

Any ideas???

Hi,

We appear to be victims of a Unix "billion second" bug. Full details and patch info can be had from:
