I have a SME 6 box running a pretty standard configuration which replaced a BSD box running Sendmail a couple of months ago. Since the change I've had lots of problems with users having to close Outlook and open it again to send email - otherwise emails get stuck in the outbox and refuse to send.
If I configure the client to use our ISP's SMTP server this problem is reduced but it still happens.
It's an Athlon XP 2500+ with 256MB of memory and supports around 70 users who all check their mail once a minute over a lan.
The wierd thing is that this doesn't affect all users - some it affects once in a while, some once a week and some several times a day. Just happens that my boss is one who gets this several times a day and it's really starting to get to her!
I have tried all of Microsoft's suggestions relating to this issue ie repairing PST files and lengthening server timeouts but nothing works.
Can anyone offer any suggestions?
Thanks a heap
