Topic: I've broken FTP...

I've just upgraded from 5.6 to 6.0b1 and managed to lose all FTP access.

I originally thought the problem was caused by not being able to change the "FTP Access" option to "Allow public access (entire internet)", so having read of this issue in the change log, carried out another upgrade to 6.0b3.

I can now set the appropriate options, but still cannot use FTP, either from within the LAN or internet.

The error log from my FTP client is pretty unhelpful with:
Opening Connection mr-tickle:21
WSAECONNABORTED: Software caused connection abort

Web pages from the ibays are being served OK, but none of the users can change them.

Can anybody help please?

Found something...
ProFTPd wasn't running.

It appears that ProFTPd doesn't like two <Directory...> entries for the same ibay.
As Primary got moved into an ibay, it ended up with entries for both the old and the new locations (which are linked to the same directory).

No doubt my previous meddlings with template fragments screwed the upgrade.
