Hi all,
One great improvement to the future release of SME Server would be a much better installer (anaconda). I mean the installer should be able to:
1. Detect several ATA/SATA/SCSI disks (2, 3, 4, whatever) on systems without hardware raid.
2. Define several partitions (size, physical location) during the install.
3. Define several software raid partitions (raid1 is the default but also raid5 for data partitions and raid1+0 for system/data partitions) during the install.
4. Ask for disk drivers during the install (the actual process is somewhat very confusing).
5. Detect some more common low cost hardware RAID systems based on ATA/SATA (i'm thinking on HighPoint right now but there are more).
6. Lycoris/Contribs should also have some time to certify disk drivers (along with other hardware drivers) and publish them on this website. I know there is the RHCL but again, that is not a thing for newbies and especially for people evaluating our software, right?
Cheers,
