cosy,

This may seem silly, but have you set-up the user accounts to forward mail to their ISP mail boxs?

If the users are receiving and sending mail directly through their ISP and have not set up their mail client to also check for mail on your SME server then they will not receive 'internal' mail.

Do you have DNS MX records set-up for the 5 virtual domains pointing to your external IP address?

If the MX Records are pointing to the ISP's mail server then ALL mail sent to that domain will go there (to the IPS) not to your SME Server.
