Changing SME Pop3 port - is it possible?
« on: October 09, 2004, 04:07:08 PM »
I'm trial-running SME. I've downloaded the fetchmail module that allows for multiple outside mailboxes.

I used Mr Postman to pull Hotmail and Yahoo mail to my old mail server. It uses a different port (11110) for pop3. Is there a way to specify the pop3 port for a mailbox without changing it for all pop3 access?

Thanks.

Jay

I'm sure it's possible as most things are.  SME uses qmail as the MTA.  I'd start by reading the docos from the qmail site and work from there.

Keep in mind that SME isn't meant for this type of a hack.  It is really a blackbox *nix.  Changes like this almost always result in breakage at some point.

Thanks. I'm not ready to crash it with confidence as yet.
