Accessing E-smith on Internet

Hello,
I am trying to figure a way to access our e-smith through the internet.  Currently we can access it locally with the DSN name but cannot do it from the internet with the DSN name.  From what I have read do I need to put in another adapter card to do this or am I on the wrong track.

Hi,

Do you have a permanent IP address?
If you do you should be able to access the public page of your site by
typing in the ip address.

If you wish to use the e-smith-manager you will need to set up a VPN connection to your e-smith which will think you are connecting locally.

You will need to increase the PPTP connections from 0 to say 2 in the e-smith-manager locally as a first step.

Then you will need to setup VPN on your Windows box.

I have managed to do this in Win98 SE by installing  Virtual Private Networking in  Windows Software - Communications and  the DUN update for 128 bit encryption on the Microsoft Website.

Once these are installed , establish your internet connection as usual from your client ( windows box) and then create your VPN dial up for your e-smith using an appropriate ipaddress and user name / password. You then click on the VPN dial up and a second pair of computers should appear on your task bar indicating a VPN connection.

You will now be able to access your e-smith-manager over the internet.

Hope this provides some guidance.
