Topic: Last message repeated 7 times in message log.

I have a small problem afer installing Swerts-Knudsen "Monitor SpamAssassin with MRTG", my message log file is filling up with:
Nov  1 01:15:01 linux-server ucd-snmp[1907]: Connection from 127.0.0.1
Nov  1 01:20:01 linux-server last message repeated 7 times
.
.
and so on every 5 mins.

Hi Kim,

This is quite normal. Syslog is logging the connctions to the snmp service called by mrtg to do it's statistics collections.

If you don't want it logging you'll need to modify syslog.conf - or better still modify the template.

just found this post after i noticed that my logs are also filling up after installing mrtg. i've had a look in syslog.conf and the templates but can't find anything referencing the snmpd server - could things be different in sme 6.0.1, and what setting do i need to change to stop the 'last message repeated' entries?
