Clam AV error message
« on: November 09, 2004, 06:30:57 PM »
I just looked at the freshclam logs and noticed this in it:

--------------------------------------
ClamAV update process started at Sun Nov  7 05:00:00 2004
main.cvd is up to date (version: 27, sigs: 23982, f-level: 2, builder: tomek)
daily.cvd is up to date (version: 576, sigs: 2302, f-level: 3, builder: tkojm)
WARNING: Your ClamAV installation is OUTDATED - please update immediately !
WARNING: Current functionality level = 2, required = 3
--------------------------------------

I installed Clam from pagefault.org, about 3 months ago.  Anyone know if there are any updates, there are none listed on pagefault.org.

Thanks
Marco

Thank you ainigma32

I just upgraded
clamav-es
clamav-es-libs
from http://www.swerts-knudsen.dk and manually run

Code: [Select]
# /usr/bin/fresclam and the result was

Database updated (26372 signatures) from database.clamav.net (213.184.16.3).

I then have modified my /etc/freshclam.conf file with
Code: [Select]
DNSDatabaseInfo current.cvd.clamav.net

The result is
Code: [Select]
[root@erginsme04 etc]# /usr/bin/freshclam

If you also update with sme-antivirus then these new settings are fixed and there is also a new panel config for mirror country.

Looking good  8-)

My log looks like this:
Code: [Select]
ClamAV update process started at Sun Nov  7 23:12:14 2004
main.cvd is up to date (version: 27, sigs: 23982, f-level: 2, builder: tomek)
daily.cvd updated (version: 576, sigs: 2302, f-level: 3, builder: tkojm)
Database updated (26284 signatures) from database.clamav.net (195.184.96.15).
--------------------------------------
ClamAV update process started at Mon Nov  8 02:12:01 2004
main.cvd is up to date (version: 27, sigs: 23982, f-level: 2, builder: tomek)
daily.cvd updated (version: 577, sigs: 2362, f-level: 3, builder: ccordes)
Database updated (26344 signatures) from db.nl.clamav.net (80.69.67.3).
Clamd successfully notified about the update.

After that the DNS name of my country mirror stays  the same but the ip switches between the ones above.

I guess this is the result of Clamav's new updating system.

Ergin, did you make a custom template for the change in /etc/freshclam.conf? Otherwise you'd loose the changed setting at next boot

Jesper, I couldn't find any update on your site. Did you mean that you've updated the contrib with the DNSDatabaseInfo directive?

Ooops my bad    You're right. I guess I used an old download. I downloaded Jesper's script just now, ran it and it's working like a charm. Jesper: you the man  :hammer:

P.S. I'm assuming Jesper is a guy's name  :-D

Hi Knuddi!

I originally installed clamav from pagefault.org and still have e-smith-antivirus RPM

e-smith-antivirus-6.0.4-02dc

Can I just upgrade it with your sme-antivirus RPM?

If you just run the script it will detect pagefault.org version and do a proper uninstall before install of sme-antivirus.

Jesper
