mondo rescue and unwanted hard drive backup
« on: November 10, 2004, 05:00:48 AM »
I have 2 hard drives on my system.  I want to use mondo rescue to backup just one hard drive and put the backup iso files onto the other.  The problem is, that it wants to backup the information about the second hard drive.  I unplugged the second drive during a restore, and mondo rescue won't restore without the second drive plugged in.  I don't want it to even know that there is a second drive.  If I unmount the drive, and have it create the iso files on the first drive, then mount the drive, and copy them....will that work?  Or does someone have a better solution?

If you use the -E parameter to exclude your second drive from the backup and the -d parameter to direct your iso's to the second drive,
you will have all the first drive contents on the second!

For example if you only have two filesystems on the second mounted as /drive2a and /drive2b and want the iso's in /drive2a
the following should work mondoarchive -Oi -d /drive2a -E /drive2a -E /drive2b -F
all care and no responsibility, Rob :pint:
