SME 5 & DSL & dyndns.org & ...
« on: September 25, 2001, 11:07:30 AM »
Hi there,

the day before yesterday I had another look at e-smith, and was wondering that its renamed ... ;-)
Ok, I tried to use e-smith 4 several month ago, and I ran into some probs - so I didn't spend much time in it, and finally I didn't use it.
Now, with changed details on my side, I'd like to give it another try. I installed it without any probs, but ....
a) I have two NICs installed, one points to my LAN, the other via DSL modem to my ISP. This works, but where does I have to set the time-out values, etc.
b) During installation I have chosen the dyndns.org DNS service, as I already have a domain there. I typed-in my username and password, but the changes are nor made. Currently I use an SuSE machine for that stuff, and I have to run a phyton script to update the dyndns.org db every time the system dials in. Where does I have to setup this?
c) I own NAI antivirus for linux. Can this be installed "normally"? Or will it crash with any other program?
d) I read the articel regarding the first SME5 update .... but where can I download it? ... I really didn't get it .... all I see are the ~350MB files, and the md5 files ...

Thanks for your time & help!!!
