Topic: 6.0.1 is "recovering journal"

Hi.

My boot up is paused at

Checking root filesystem
/: recovering journal

Can this be a lengthy process?  I've been waiting a few hours.  (there's 1.5 TB online storage).  The cursor is still flashing and the screen is still echoing keyboard input.

If we think that the bootup is permanently hung at this point, what's my next best step?

I waited 48 hours and the journal didn't complete its recovery.

I resolved the issue as follows:

kill power to the server,
pull the Hdds of the raid (that are symlinked into the boot disk's filesystem)
Restart the server, which completed normally
Shutdown.
Re-insert the raid storage Hdds
Restart the server, which completed normally.

A mystery, but it has a happy ending...for now
