Topic: DansGuardian Issues

Hey all,

I just configured SME for an Elementary School and need to get DansGuardian up and running for legal purposes. I installed it and it works up until I try to configure a groups level of access, I get a 500 error.

The log provides me with the following:
Dec 28 06:58:56 cwes e-smith[7427]: Processing event: dansguardian-reload

So essentially and group changes I make never take in the system. Any ideas?

Your previous post hinted that your were new to sme.

I don't have any ideas per se as Dansguarian configuration is not really discussed too much around here.

To make your life easier with Dansguardian, purchase an RPM with an interface here:

http://www.dungog.net/sme/

It's easy to manage, it will save you time and it may even come with support (gasp!).

We did purchase it. I burned two copies of the Dungog suite. The one I had installed from apparently had some bad data. While it installed all the way without errors, it just would not work. I reloaded the server (thank god for SME's ease of use) in about 30 minutes and used the other CD to install. Works like a charm now.
