remote administration
« on: December 31, 2004, 02:35:40 PM »
hello,

i just setup a fresh sme server in a small office, everything works perfect.
the next step is to make a remote administration connection.
i tested the avm fritz card pci (german product) with no success. are ther any known hardware products which make the remote control setup easy for a linux newbee?
i just need the console from the remote server (putty) the connection is 64k isdn or modem if it is easier to install.

thanks for tips and links!

happpy new year to all!

The server already supports remote access admin using putty or server manager.
Log in via ssh (Putty) as admin to get the console or as root to get the command line.

Log in as admin via server manager using https.

You will need to enable ssh and also either setup a VPN connection or add your remote static IP to the Remote Access/Remote Management panel to allow a remote https connection to server manager.
