Yesterday, the mail queue was flooded with about 23,000 messages causing e-mail to be delayed several hours until the queue was cleaned out.
The problem was a user has his mail forwarded to his Earthlink account. His Earthlink account was full causing an error message to be send back to his SME account which was reforwarded to his full Earthlink account. This obviously created an endless loop of messages nearly filling the hard drive.
I thought this would be considered message looping and would have been prevented by qmail but it wasn't.
Is there a way to prevent this from happening? Is my qmail misconfigured?
The system is a recently upgraded E-smith 5.6 server to SME 6.01 with the upgrade script applied.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
