Ibay access with browser

Hi All,

I'm having a little difficulty getting the users to connect to the ibays using the browser.

As I understand it, the users on my local subnet sould be able to browse the ibays via their browser, after loggin in using their username / password combination.

However, non of my users are allowed in, even though they do have access via the windows network. If i set up an ibay with both read and write access for the local subnet, the users indeed have access, but I get the message "e-smith information bay
This information bay has not yet been customized.". What is there left to customize?

can anyone shed light on this matter?
thanks in advance,

Hi Niels!

Thanks for the post!

Each ibay contains three directories: an html, cgi-bin, and "files" directories. Which directory is read when a user visits the ibay depends on which server they are using to access it.  If they visit the ibay using a web browser (http:), they are placed in the html directory and the web browser reads whatever .html files are placed in that directory.

The ibay's .html directory can be used as a separate web site from your regular web site - you can use it for your intranet, an extranet, company newsletter or whatever.

"e-smith information bay. This information bay has not yet been customized" is a placeholder file in that .html directory. Until you customize an ibay's html directory with your own html files, the user will see the placeholder html file in that html directory.

If the user accesses the ibay using windows networking or if the user FTPs in using the ibay name, they will also see the ibay's "files" directory.  The files directory is used for file sharing and would contain whatever shared files you place in that ibay.  If you've allowed both read and write access from the local network, they'll be able to save their own files there as well.

Hope this clears things up!
