Topic: Outlook folder copy to SME

When migrating outlook users to SME, what have people been doing to recreate the nested folder structures in users PST files ?
I've been adding an SME IMAP account to outlook, then manually creating the same folder structure under IMAP that exists on the client, then per folder, manually copying the contents to SME. I've found that dropping top level folders doesn't seem to work.

This was OK but now I have 15 machines to do !!!

Any ideas ?

Can't you just copy the .pst to the server drive ?

I usually create an ibay and keep the pst files there

You mean all legacy email is available in the PST file and all new emails are stored under IMAP access ?

Yes, the *.pst is the only file Outlook needs. There is also a *.wab file, which is the adress book.

OK, I had a think about it.

This is fine if no-one needs access to legacy email via webmail. This may be the case - I don't know yet.

I knew about the PST/WAB breakdown but ideally would like to clean out the PST stuff if we're using IMAP.

But even if you use imap, doesn't Outlook still create the *.pst file for times when the server may be offline...

I've always asked users to dump Outlook and use Mozilla so I couldn't say. Anyone else ?

I'm using outlook with IMAP and yes, it sure does create a pst file.
