NXDOMAIN

For some reason, my SME box (truth.jingmei.org) is no longer resolving www.jingmei.org into 66.111.4.151 or 66.111.4.161; instead giving NXDOMAIN.

It *was* resolving it to itself - even though I had previously removed 'www' using the 'hostnames and address' page of the server-manager, it had reappeared :( I have removed it again, but now it gives NXDOMAIN.

Anyone know how to fix it?

Max.

does no one know how to fix this?

why would SME effectively block the resolution of 'www.jingmei.org'. Does it assume that it has authority for the whole of the 'jingmei.org' domain? If so, how to I tell it that it needs to look elsewhere for the address of this particular one?

If you've configured its domain name as 'jingmei.org', yes.

Fill in the correct IP for www.jingmei.org in the hostnames panel.

Fill in the correct IP for www.jingmei.org in the hostnames panel.

Is there no way to tell it to forward the request?

It could cause much confusion if www.jingmei.org changed it's address; not to mention that I would have to change it on every gateway every time it changes.
