virus solution??
« on: January 26, 2005, 05:17:05 PM »
I am trying to find a solution for virus scanning. I want to use the SME server as the main virus scanner and have windows client check the server for updates and to reporting errors. I have a few clients that have virus protection of all types and it is becoming a major pain to keep up with who is updated and who needs new license and so on. I am trying to get one brand of virus protection that can scan the SME server and have a central console that I can check on the needs of the windows clients. Any suggestion would be helpful and appreciated.

Try F-Secure for Linux Gateways. Cheap, up to date but slow scanning. Can also act as av patterns repository for Windows clients which will then grab definitions from SME. Has also reporting capabilities. For the Winworkstations licenses are quite expensive for my taste. Completely java for all OS.
