Topic: Admin login on console fails

I can no longer login as admin on the console anymore. I have no idea why or when it happened. I am running a SME 6.0.1-01 with updates and several contribs. When i try to login itseems to accept the login but is not able to start the admin page, and it then just returns to login promt.
The strange thing is that it also happened to a freind of mine.  

The main question here is: Can i start the admin page in another way since i really just need to change my server to server mode. and then i can deal with the problem later, since i am planning a new motherboard and new install.

Found the problem!!

After a long nigth of testing on a spare machine, i found that i had upgraded the newt package from: newt-0.50.18-04es.i386.rpm to: newt-0.50.35-1.i386.rpm. That somehow brakes the login for admin. I downgraded again and everything seems to work fine again.
