Hi folks...

My first Counter Strike HowTo can be found at : http://www.e-smith.org/cgi-bin/contrib.cgi
under the category "Games"

A second is coming up ... here are why i didnt release the full version

 - Trouble with the hd of my server (actually it crashed)
 - Trouble with the command screen to launch more than one cs server
 - Trouble with Punk Buster since it will disapear... What's the new program ?!
   I'll see...

OK Enjoy it and if you find some errors in my vocabulary or in the commands just tell me.... !!

I would be happy that people who use this howto help me to "improve" my english since I never wrote stuff for english ppl

ps: I'm swiss ahhah so I think I made a lot of mistakes.. just tell me please

Hello,

In the howto,  on the last page you say :

By the way, configure the RCON Password wich is needed by Punkbuster server !
So add this line in the server.cfg file :


But I can't find this line in the Howto

This may be a stupid question, who knows,

Hi again,

still in the procedure in the cstrike in the bin directory, if you paste what has to be inside, there's a small mistake : cd /games/halflife/ instead of cd /games/half-life/

I launched the cstrike, and it seems to work but the last lines are
Adding master server 63.251.143.218:27010
Adding master server 216.52.220.16:27010
Adding master server 63.251.143.213:27010

In these three IPs there is not one that is my IP, is it OK ?

And know how can I do to connect to this game with one of my workstations.  I tried adding a server and writing these three addresses or my private IP but without success.

The ips are ok.
CStrike got authentified by the Master CS Servers

The IP of your server is : IPOFSERVER:27015

Sorry for the HowTo. I made some mistakes because this is not the last release i'm gonna make.. In fact I had problem with my server and had to stop the howto.. so there are some mistakes but I'm correcting it this week I hope !

Everything is OK now, I finally found on the link you provided on the howto that if you type status you have all the info.

I know it is easy to find mistakes when you see a document for the first time, except for this everything went good at the first try.

I am from Belgium (Francorchamps)

The server works fine, I am just trying to install punkbuster

By the way, I forgot to tell you that when installing the server, I had a little problem entering the password in the file config.inc.php.  I had to change the mysql password first an then eveything went fine. Otherwise I had an access denied for user root@localhost.

This thing is too cool, still have a lot to learn but I keep going.

I made the final release of my howto..
