I resync 2x80Gb on a P4 2.8G with 1Gb RAM and a working online system in about 2 hours.

Ray,
Thats my point, if it is configured for online use it must be online or the synchronisation takes a lot longer. While the test server was unable to go online the synch was slow as soon as it's on line configuration was corrected and a connection established the synch rate increased more than three fold.

To confirm Charlie's points we have servers that have hardware scsi raid and the disks are paired off on separate ribbon cables connected to separate Raid channels e.g 6 disks 3 ribbon cables 3 raid channels one Mylex RAID controller and these are configured as one Raid Level 5 giving super performance

Regards
Jackl

I'm guessing here, but if you physically move hdb to hdc controller location, and then (using the RAID recovery HOTO from dmay) enter the appropriate information, but for hdc rather than hdb,
I assume it will rebuild the array correctly.
