AIT2 IDE Backup drive
« on: February 23, 2005, 05:45:26 AM »
Hi, just a quick question, has anybody used an AIT2 Ide Internal backup drive? Or the SCSI version? We're just about to buy one, and would of course like to know that it works with the contribs e-smith 6.0.1 first.

TIA

Simon

Nobody uses AIT2?

What do you use for backups or large systems?

I have used AIT2 IDE (50/130GB) on SME and W2003.  Sony has a new Turbo AIT1 IDE (40/104GB) which is cheaper and works with SME with Tapeware without any problem.  If your system has a fast SATA (3ware) controller the speed is very good (over 7/11GB per hour.  With the built in RAID is its much slower.

A new Turbo AIT2 is out (80/208) but is not available in US yet.
