Sme6admin screwed up server manager, how to remove.
« on: March 20, 2005, 03:21:48 AM »
I just installed Sme6admin and it removed all the menu links in server manager to previous contribs that I have added since installing SME. All except spam filter and antvirus.

How much does that suck?

Anyway can I get it back to the way it was before installing Sme6admin? Can I remove Sme6admin?

Thanks

Actually I think that it just tidied  up the menu. Has anyone else experienced this.

It used to have the following in the menu at the bottom:

unknown
 sysmon

Now it has sysmon under the administration menu like so:

Administration
 System Monitor

It seems it just looks like it deleted things. Hmmm I wonder. It must be. Because I can't think of anything else that is different. Weird... :hammer:

I've seen this before with other contribs.

Don't really know why it does it - I always just thought the second contrib does something right that the first one does not, and rebuilds the menu bar. Never had anything actually end up missing.

Yeah, I think you're right. It just looked different when I refreshed after installing Sme6admin. Looked like it removed stuff, but it just tidied it up. Good to know anyway.

When a contrib installs under unknown, you can type the following from the command line (as root):

/etc/e-smith/events/actions/navigation-conf

You will see a fair amount of activities, after which the panel(s) originally installed under "unknown" move where they were intended to be.  In this way, there is no surprise...
