EZMLM - configuration query
« on: March 24, 2005, 08:14:21 AM »
I have followed the great how-to regarding EZMLM installation.  It installed fast and pain-free.

Now when it comes down to configuring my first list I am stumpted...maybe it can not be done with EZMLM, but I can do it with Ecartis.

I can send a message to list@mydomain.com and it is distributed to all users (user1-usern).  That part works fine.  The trouble is that I want all the users to be able to hit reply and have it reply to list@mydomain.com.  Instead it replies to myemailaddress@mydomain.com.  I have looked around in the config, but have not seen a way to change the reply-to address.

Any ideas?

That's not a function of ezmlm.
Create a new account/identity/profile in your email client and make the "reply to" address the list address.

Yes, you can modifie your default configuration for reply to the list, and no to sender.
Download my mod file from here
http://www.todomecanica.com.ar/ezmlmrc
and replace the current file located at /etc/ezmlm/ directory.
All these modification are documented perfectly in ezmlm page.
If you want, compare the files to see the diferences.
These new settings are aplyed when you create a new list. In your case, delete all your list. Download and replase the above file, and then recreate the lists.
If you want back up the existing users, backup the folder /home/e-smith/files/ezmlm/lists/listname/subscriber/.
Then, when you finished create the list, put your subscribers backup folder into each list.
Enjoy

Tips. This conf file increase attachemnt size, reply to the list.
If you want the users send html messages, and any type of attachements, go to the configuration of the list and delete all content under "Mime types to strip from all outgoing mail" title.

Dear PicsOne

Your ezmlmrc file appears to be a spanish (?) version. Do you happen to have a english version you can provide a link to or email to me.

I have spotted the setting for message size
# max & min message size
</msgsize#x/>
500000:2

Can you tell me which setting controls the reply to address ?

Thanks
