Hi Folks

Well, I am at a crossroads here.

I have seen and read the instructions for adding an additional hard drive to an SME installation (6.0.1) and they are "eek" instructions.

The other option is to add the relevant hard drives and then reinstall totally.

The latter option is probably easier for me, but the main concerns are that if I have 3 HDDs in there rather than the 1 there is now, will it recognise and set them up to be used by the server...

I've a 10gb, 20gb and 30gb and the motherboard bios has a 32gb limit (I would assume on per drive)

update your bios and it will support larger disks.
Depending on how old you motherboard is.

Hi,

Try looking for a custom bios update for your mobo.

But beware that this may stuff up your system and require a new bios chip unless you have a Bios Saviour kit

Ignoring the Bios problem for a moment...

Can I have 3 IDE HDDs in it, install SME on one of them and get it to "use" the other two??

It's not really viable to bin the stacks of hard drives I have lying around and just go out and buy new parts... Is it!!!  :-D  :-D  :-D

Alas that looks like the only option available...

Spose I'll have to dig in and get my hands dirty :(  Now where did I leave that monitor for it lying around...

Hmm

Thanks  :-o  :-o

I am a linux monkey and managed to stumble though ok using this How-To, would advise you to back-up first of course.

OT - listening to the new Stereophonics album, it's excellent.

Yes, I'll pop one of the drives in there :)  The other will have to go in the XP or the Mdk10 machine as I've no other capacity to backup.

In the process of upgrading 10.0 to 10.1 so have shunted all the files elsewhere :(

Doing too much at once methinks :(
