I think you'd have to modify some files in the e-smith-base rpm, like /etc/e-smith/events/actions/user-create-unix, so that after a user is created, if OX is installed, it performs the steps to add the user to OX.

You wouldn't modify user-create-unix, you'd add a user-create-OX action, and drop that into the user-create event directory. That action and symlink would go into the e-smith-ox RPM.

Seems the rpm configures many things, meaning it would have to be rewritten to be able to use it, with the template system and all.
Let's take a closer look at the generated spec :-)

By the way, the link is fixed, something strange is going here, 404 with cname, file with ip address, put them in a folder now and seems to work...

Your script runs ok, but had to modify as the $nluu and other variables didn't work correctly.

Problem that i now have is I can create a new user, both in SME and in OX, but when I try to login with the new user into the groupware, all that is displayed is a blank screen.  I have redirected the Imapmail server to point to my existing SME IMAP server, so the Webmail function works correctly.

Have you had any issues with new users and groupware access?  Any suggestions?  I have checked the logs, but there doesn't appear to be any errors in the logs.

Hi!

I had the exact same problem (With both the script, and the blank page, with new users)

Any help would be much appreciated.

Rob

Well, that's easy   The problem is creating links for starting on boot (which the script does not).

If you're not getting an error, just a blank screen, you should check if openexchange is running (which isn't needed for adding users). Enter /etc/init.d/openexchange status (and probably /etc/init.d/openexchange start) and try again.

Sorry I'm not making much progress, I've been busy, sortof. Current status is figuring out where I broke the test installation trying to create an rpm for ox, which can be used for multiple pc's, integrates user creating, modification, and deleting, and has a function to remove itself. I should be able to get back at it by the end of this week...

The links are in place, but in /ect/rc.d/init.d directory.  Interestingly enough, when I login as admin (the default admin user) I am able to access both the groupware and the webmail components.  Just cannot access with a normal user account.

In this write up, you indicated that the SME user need to be created.  Are you creating the SME user, then the OX user?  Also, what did you mean by the comment

You might need to create the folders for the user, I haven't found the mailbox configuration just jet
.

I will browse the Open exchange site, but don't remember anything about needing mail folders created.

Thanks,

It really should not matter which user is added first, adding in SME is just so you're able to authenticate with the built in imap server.

The folders in webmail don't exists by default. There is a setting in ox which creates these if they're not found. Try looking in the files in /usr/local/ox/etc/webmail/.

Not sure why you're still not able to log in/view pages...

Perhaps I should just give the script another try and see if I can recreate your problem...

Sounds good,

I will check the file locations later today.

I built OX on a clean SME 7 Alpha 4 build.  What version are you using at this time?

I created the current script on alpha4, was creating rpm on alpha5.

However, I've sortof misplaced the isos, so I'll continue with alpha7.

Open-Xchange 8.0 stable or older?!
« Reply #26 on: April 29, 2005, 11:56:31 AM »
DarkMirage,

Is this the new OpenXchange 8.0 (stable) version or an older version you are working on?! I'm asking you this because i'm in need of the WebDAV option on the new 8.0 version.

Jester.

Well, after some problems downloading alpha7, I got around to testing the last posted script, and it's not doing much at all. Busy at the moment, however, I plan to rewrite the script and post it around friday (assuming no big probs get in the way).

It seems like a logical choice to continue with ox0.8 now, I've already seen some mayor changes in it (well, major enough to fail my script anyway), so 0.7.5 is history in my book...

I will also post the location of the script, maybe even start a new thread, as the current topic is getting way off.

For those interested, I believe there were around 5 packages updated in the download section of the script, and alpha7 does not include tcl (removed in alpha6), so this will be included in the new list.
