After a 'restore from desktop' on a clean 6.5RC1 machine none of the clients in the network were able to log on to the domain.
A little investigation showed that /etc/passwd and /etc/groups lacked all the necessary lines for the machine accounts, although those lines were all neatly backed up in the tgz archive.
It looks like a bug to me, so I'll post it in the bug tracker. Or is there a logical explanation? (or both)
Whatever it is, I need to restore my user settings plus machine accounts on a new harddisk, using 6.5RC1. Can anyone point me to info on how to do this, I can't seem to find any recent information on machine accounts in the forums.
