I am quite a newbie when it comes to Linux and SME. I have set up an SME 6.01 server-only on my LAN, and have installed CLAM AV and Spam Filter. All is working fine.
My question is this. I notice (through phpMyAdmin) that I am running MySQL 3.23.56. Is there any real need to upgrade this to a later version? I will just be running phpBB and 'latest news' database for my homepage.
Likewise PHP. How do I find out what version I am using, (it'll be stock SME 6.01 install) and should I update?
I have searched for these answers, and read the manual a couple of times.
Hope someone can help.
