Topic: What is the Status of SME 6.5?

I have the following questions about the status of SME 6.5?

1. What is the status of SME 6.5? After SME 6.5RC1 release in Mid Feb 2005, there are no updates or SME 6.5 release.

2. Is there a date by which SME6.5 production version shall be available? What is the roadmap?

3. After the bugs reported for SME 6.5RC1 have been resolved/fixed, how do I get the latest version (bug fixed version) of SME6.5RC1? Is there a nightly built available for download?

4. I observed that no bugs have been resolved after March 11th 2005. What is happening to SME6.5? What is the status?

5. News item about SME 6.5RC1 has been removed from the contribs news where as SME 6.5 Beta 2 link is available.

Sorry, it doesn't work that way and never has.  The release will be released when it's released!  I know you're impatient; we all want to see 6.5 and 7.0 available as release versions, but "beggars can't be choosers" so just wait with the rest of us who aren't developers.

On that note, a big "thank you" to all of you (myself not included) who are actually CODING and working so hard to keep the SME server going.

(For my part, I've promised myself that I will not flame those who jump in with one or two posts demanding to know the current state of the distro or telling the community the direction in which it should be heading.  BUT IT'S HARD SOMETIMES!)
