just a quick question (or 2) I've just installed e-smith 4.1.2 and I need to see the size of the HDD my bios is showing a lower amount?

The other thing is where can I find the external IP address? I had to reset my cable modem and not sure if it is the same IP?

first questions is to view amount of harddisk space type df -h, for second question to view external IP type either ifconfig or route

Where do I type this in? I get the login screen that I enabled and then it goes into the other screen where I can review config, test internet access ect. If I exit from this screen I get the login screen again?

Never used Linux before so I do need it as simple as I can have it )

Hi,

Use the 2nd login screen. Reachable by ALT-F2 and login as 'root' and 'password'. Offcourse you replace password with your password. That way you wil stay in text-mode.

There you can do your stuff. Login as 'admin' and u end up with the config-screen again.
