Topic: phpmyadmin issues on 6.5rc1

Hello!!

I recently installed 6.5rc1 - its great to see a new version out, nice work everyone!!

I'm trying to install as few add-ons as possible until the final version is out, but one thing that I do use a lot is phpmyadmin.

I thought that instaling this shouldn't be too much of a problem as all the RPM does is create an ibay, set up the mysql user/pass and copy the php files etc into the Ibay(I think... i'm still a bit new to linux )

I downloaded http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs/nightspirit/e-smith-phpmyadmin/e-smith-phpmyadmin-2.6.0-12.noarch.rpm

And installed it, it seemed to go OK but the Ibay didn't appear.  I tried to create the ibay manually but it refused stating that:
The account "phpmyadmin" is an existing account.

I went into home/e-smith/accounts and found the following line:
phpmyadmin=reserved


I don't want to remove the line incase this is some part of 6.5rc1 that I am unaware of... Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Hey NickCritten,
this is the expected behavior when installed via the RPM. Go to https://yourdomain/phpmyadmin and see if anything happens.
I am betting you will see a very familiar interface!

Thanks for answering Boss_hog.

I'm afraid not.. the I-bay hasn't appeared so all I get is Page cannot be displayed.

There is no phpmyadmin directory in the ibays directory.

Any Ideas?

Hey NickCritten,
I wasn't as clear as I would have liked to have been, sorry. When the NightSpirit PhpMyadmin Contrib installs, it does not put the contrib in an ibay. It is installed in /opt/administration/phpmyadmin. I have SME6.5rc1, with the phpmyadmin running on it.

After the install I restart the "webserver":
/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd graceful
and
/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd-e-smith restart
These may not be needed but it shouldn't hurt.

Hmm..

I don't know what the heck was going on there, but it's suddenly started working!

I gave it a couple of restarts the other day, but it wasn't working, and I was just planning on removing it and installing manually, but I just checked and now its running.

Madness.

Thanks for your help Boss_Hog... At least I know where it lives now anyway!
