Topic: Delivering Via ISP ... Authenticating

Using SME 6.5RC1

I need to route outgoing mail through my ISP, however, I must authenticate with username and password to do so. I'm sure there's a way to do this but I've yet to find out how. I am new to the site and did some searches, etc. that indicate there is a procedure but I have yet to find any how to's concerning it. Can someone direct me to them? TIA
