Help with E-Mail Delivery SME Server 6.0.1-01.
« on: June 10, 2005, 03:08:25 PM »
I am newbie with SME server. I am having problems with forwarding address under users. When ever I set email delivery to both deliver locally and forward. Spam assasin stops working untill I reload procmal, however I cant get e-mails to forward anymore. Does anyone else have this problem and if so how can I correct it. I was using SME 5.6? before with no problems. Remember I am a newbie so I may need someone to walk me through the steps.

Thanks in advance

6.0.1 doesn't have spamassassin and doesn't use procmail, so you must have added a contrib. Whatever contrib you've used must have a problem, so you should identify what contrib or contribs you have, and perhaps look to the author for some troubleshooting advice.

If you bothered to do a search on procmail, you would have found this thread which probably answers your query. Learn to use the search function.
There are some suggestions in the thread that may resolve your issue.

The simple answer is that procmail only works for local delivery, so if you use the "forward to" setting unders users, then the message does not get filtered by procmail. This then stops spam messages being put in your Junkmail folder.

Spamassassin is still working ie tagging the messages, but just not moving them to the junkmail folder.

Unless you were using a spam filter contrib under sme 5.6 that did not use procmail, you would have had the same problem.
