Topic: 2 newbie questions about Mitel 6000 SME server

First, what do I need to do to be able to access this server remotely.  I have the IP address and have tried going to http://serverip/server-manager but get page cannot be displayed.

Also, this is a school and they need a virus scanner.  Someone else put on the network version of Panda but it never worked correctly.  I've used Etrust but have no experience with Linux or this server.  Does anyone know if it will work?  Can it be run on/administered from the server?  Any specific advice/instructions would be very helpful.

You can access your srver remotely, enabling SSH access from public network (Internet).

Then if you are using Putty, you can make tunneling, so you can access the server-manager.

To do that you need to establish a VPN connection first, and use https://....

You can also connect to server manager directly using https by adding your remote static IP to the server manager Remote Access panel in the Remote Management section.

A very popular virus scanner for email that runs on the sme server is Clamavis, it can also be configured to scan the server files for viruses, see
