Topic: ssh - works with IPaddress but not with hostname

Hi All,
I've got a pain of a problem on my SME 6.01 set up on Network 192.168.40.5

If I 'ssh 192.168.40.1' it works, but 'ssh robx' fails even though 'robx 192.168.40.1' is in the /etc/hosts.

If used to work and I cannot figure anything occuring when it ceased. Can anyone shed any light?

Also sending mail from a PC on the LAN to the SME takes many seconds to 'contact' the SME box, although fetching mail is fine.

Any help would be appreciated (maybe I should upgrade to 6.5, although 7 looks so cool I thought I'd wait)

DNS issues.
Did you set SME to use another server as master DNS?
That is usually the case.
