SME Server 6.0.1 used for multiple domain hosting
« on: June 22, 2005, 11:13:25 AM »
Hi All

I'm looking at using SME Server 6.0.1 as a multiple domain webhosting/e-mail hosting server.

I know that I can create an ibay, create a virtual domain and assign an ibay to a virtual domain for webhosting usage. I have tested this and it works well.

What I need to be able to do is have e-mail hosting for each virtual domain (eg: name@domain.com, someone@nowhere.com etc) with each domain seperate every other domain on the system. This applies for webmail usage also.

Has anyone implemented such a system before?

Doesn't anybody bother to search anymore before asking questions !!

This has been answered many times recently and a search on email would have found it all.

While not seperating the user accounts for each domain, email aliases can control email to the users in each domain. Webmail will still support different domains, just change the default return address from the main domain to one of the different domains that you are hosting (this is what was answered before).
