Port proxy via a virtual domain?
« on: July 07, 2005, 10:05:14 AM »
Hi All,
Just started a new job, and once again I seem to have picked a workplace that locks all inbound/outbound traffic down outside of port 80.

What I was looking to do was setup a series of virtual domains so I can access services on my box, like VPN, IMAP, and Jabber.

So is it possible to setup custom virtual domains that could proxy the connection like so:

vpn.domain.com:80 -> proxys to domain.com:1194
mail.domain.com:80 -> proxys to domain.com:143

Or is there a cleaner way of doing this? I don't want to make any global changes, just one that will help me work around the restriction at my workplace.

Sorry if this has been covered before!

thanks,

Geoffrey
